Project was to invite Yasuo Terada to UK to construct straw fired
pit kiln, at Tremenheere Sculpture Park, Penzance and to fire it
with students and potters from West Cornwall |

project officer for Japan 2001
Responsible for inviting Yasuo Terada from Seto, Japan, to visit
UK and build a charcoal fired raku kiln similar in design to that
which Bernard Leach first encountered in 1918. The kiln was built
at Leach Pottery , St. Ives, UK. Together we gave workshops on raku
firing, Japanese and European style. |
